Personal information we collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Our AI chat assistant ("Hattie")
The chat on our website is handled by AI, not a person. We use it so you can get quick answers about products, orders and delivery. You don't have to use it — you can email us at info@chefsforfoodies.com instead.
What it collects
  • The messages you type, the page you are on and what is in your basket.
  • If you ask about an order: the email address on that order (so it can find it) and, if you sign in, your customer account.
  • If you ask for a person: the email address and phone number you give us so we can get back to you.
What we use it for
  • Answering your questions and looking up your order and delivery status.
  • Suggesting products and offers from our range.
  • Passing the conversation to a member of our team when you ask for one or when it can't help.
Why we're allowed to — performing our contract with you (order and delivery questions); our legitimate interest in running our shop and helping you find products (suggestions and general questions).
Who sees it
  • AIME TECH UK Limited, who run the assistant for us (the Modernise platform), as our data processor.
  • Anthropic (USA), whose AI model writes the replies. Your messages are sent to them for that purpose only and are not used to train their models. This transfer is covered by [the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses / the UK–US Data Bridge — confirm with AIME's DPA].
  • Brevo (EU), who deliver the email to our team when a conversation is handed over.
The assistant does not make decisions about you on its own. Refunds, returns, discounts and disputes are always decided by a member of our team.
How long we keep it — chat conversations are deleted after [90] days. If a conversation is handed to our team, we keep that record until the issue is closed and for [12 months] afterwards.
Please don't type card numbers, passwords or other people's personal details into the chat.

Mobile Terms of Service

The Chefs For Foodies mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Chefs For Foodies (“Chefs For Foodies”, “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Chefs For Foodies’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Chefs For Foodies through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Chefs For Foodies. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt-out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to CFFUK or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Chefs For Foodies mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

For Service support or assistance, text HELP to CFFUK or email info@chefsforfoodies.com

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.

Our AI chat assistant
Our website chat ("Hattie") is run by AI. It answers questions about our products, orders and delivery, and can suggest products and offers.
  • It can't agree refunds, returns, exchanges, price changes or discounts. Only our team can do that. If it tells you a member of our team will be in touch, that's what happens next.
  • Stock levels, delivery times and product details it gives are our best information at the time. What you buy is described on the product page, at the price shown at checkout.
  • Any discount code it shows is subject to that offer's own terms (what it applies to, minimum basket, expiry).
  • For allergen, dietary or food-safety questions please check the product packaging or ask our team — the assistant will hand those over rather than answer.
  • Don't enter card numbers, passwords or other people's personal details in the chat.
  • Nothing in this section takes away your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

We respect your right to privacy. To see how we collect and use your personal information, please see our Privacy Notice.
