Put your barbecue on at 180C.If you are using the stove, put a non stick pan on a medium-high heat until hot.Cook the burgers for 4 minutes on each side, turning just once. When done, turn the grill/stove off and place the cheddar cheese slices on top of the patty.

While your meat is cooking, prepare your buns and garnish: slice the tomato, wash the lettuce, and set aside.Slice the burger buns and put on the grill, face down, for 30 seconds to lightly toast.

To cook your fries, if using the stove, place a generous amount of frying oil (avoid olive oil) in a deep non-stick saucepan. When the oil is very hot, cook your fries for about 5-10 minutes, until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan, if you have a lot it's best to cook in batches. Once ready, place on a dish covered with kitchen towel to remove excess grease.If using an air-frier, turn it on to 180C (allow 5 minutes to preheat, if your model requires it). Add the fries to the basket and cook for 10 minutes, then move them around and cook for a further 5-10 minutes, until golden and crispy.Season with salt.
